There is no other car with a supercharger, turbocharger, and electric motor in one package!

What we love
  • Greenness
  • Sportiness
  • Practicalness

What we don’t
  • Lack of storage space under the armrest

There is no other car with a supercharger, turbocharger, and electric motor in one package as a stock, performance-oriented car that brings in sportiness, comfort and economy altogether. Not to mention the absolutely beautifully designed exterior regardless of the viewing angles.

Living in regional country Victoria, I have driven 25,000km that brings in an average fuel economy of between 1–2L/100km over that period of time. My daily commute is about 80–120km (return trip) daily.

I plug in the Volvo S60 T8 R-Design at home, as well as at work for the maximum fuel saving.

The 0–100km/h is less than 5sec, and as exhilarating when overtaking as it can be. It is also very comfortable during long-distance rides.

The radar-controlled cruise control is easy to activate with just pressing one button, and the LED automatic non-blinding matrix high beams are just amazing, intuitive, and practically amusing in the dark.

The stereo is upmarket with concert hall mode that brings crispness and clarity with rich surround sound. The Bluetooth is easy to connect. The iPad-style central console is practical and easy to use.

The 360-degree camera is one of the best in the class, as per many professional reviewers.

Yes, you might argue there are zero-emissions pure-electric cars, but you can’t possibly travel around some country town, even with proper planning, due to the lack of the battery-charging infrastructure.

Two little downsides are the lack of storage space under the armrest, as well as the lack of a USB charging port for the rear passengers.

Overall, it is a car that I will hold on to for a long time to come!
