2021 Toyota LandCruiser Prado GXL: owner review

I bought this car as I needed something to pull a medium-sized caravan.

What we love
  • This vehicle will enable my family to realise our Australian caravan dreams. That is why I love it the most

What we don’t
  • All the beeps and alarms every time you breathe in it

I bought this car as I needed something to pull a medium-sized caravan.

I considered the competition closely (particularly the Ford Everest), but chose the Toyota LandCruiser Prado due to the full-size spare wheel, long-range fuel tank, and extra capacity in the GCM once vehicle mass is deducted.

While lockdown has prevented driving beyond my 5km radius, the Prado has been great in almost all respects. I have had some connectivity issues with the Apple CarPlay, and all the warning bells (when you open the driver’s door without being in park, for example) are really annoying, but this seems to be in most newer cars now.

It was more expensive, but the features I needed above, combined with the nice fit and finish inside, justified it to me.
