A fault could cause the sunroof to detach while the vehicle is being drive, according to the safety recall notice.

Volkswagen Australia has recalled 67 examples of its 2021 Volkswagen Polo hatchback, citing a potential fault with the sunroof.

The affected vehicles are stamped Model Year 2021.

The recall notice, lodged with the Department of Infrastructure, says: “Due to a manufacturing issue, the sunroof frame may not have been bonded correctly to the body and could become loose and detach from the vehicle.

“If the sunroof frame detaches from the vehicle there is an increased risk of injury or death to road users.”
