BMW Releases 1-Series, 2-Series, and 3-Series Sport Models In Australia

BMW has introduced a handful of new ‘Sport’ branded models in Australia, consisting of the 118i Sport, 218i Sport, 320i Sport, and 330e Sport PHEV.

Starting with the BMW 118i Sport, it comes standard with features including the Sport Line package, Live Cockpit Professional, Connected Package Professional, Intelligent Personal Assistant, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Driving Assistant, Parking Assistant, Sport seats, 17-inch alloy wheels, and is offered exclusively in black. It will set back local shoppers AU$48,900 ($34,904) drive-away.

Next up is the 218i Sport which is based on the Gran Coupe model. It comes standard with all of the aforementioned features of the 118i Sport and is priced at AU$53,900 ($38,473) drive-away.

Then we move to the pair of 3-Series models, the 320i Sport and the 330e Sport PHEV. Prices for the 320i Sport start at AU$69,900 ($49,894) while the 330e Sport PHEV is available from AU$77,900 ($55,605). Both models include the Sport Line package, Live Cockpit Professional, Connected Package Professional, Intelligent Personal Assistant, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Driving Assistant, Parking Assistant, Sport seats, 18-inch wheels, and a black exterior finish. The only difference between the two is that the 330e Sport PHEV adds a Head-Up display.

BMW Australia has confirmed that all models will be available from dealerships across the country by the end of the first quarter.

The 118i and 218i are both powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder with 138 hp (103 kW) between 4,600-6,500 rpm and 162 lb-ft (220 Nm) of torque from 1,480-4,200 rpm. Both models are front-wheel drive. By comparison, the 320i has a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 181 hp (135 kW) and 221 lb-ft (300 Nm) of torque. The 330e PHEV is the most powerful of the bunch with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder and an electric motor making a combined 248 hp (185 kW) and 310 lb-ft (420 Nm).
