The Kia Carens is finally here, and it has shocked everyone with its excellent pricing across the entire variant line-up. Even though the prices are introductory and will bump up in a few weeks, they are attractive enough to change the market dynamics and attract buyers of all segments towards it. The most talked-about variants of the Kia Carens are the base two variants, Premium and Prestige, both of which have sub-Rs 10 lakh price points with a 1.5-litre petrol engine under their hoods. We have come across a video that showcases all the features and cosmetic bits of the Prestige variant of the Kia Carens.
In a video uploaded by the YouTube channel of ‘Sanscari Sumit’, we can see the Prestige variant of the Kia Carens in all its glory. This variant is available with three engine options – 1.5-litre petrol, 1.4-litre turbo-petrol and 1.5-litre diesel. The video shows the Prestige variant of the 1.4-litre turbo-petrol version, though the variant is entirely the same as the other two engine options too.
Kia Carens Prestige
On the outside, the Prestige variant of the Kia Carens misses out on chrome garnish all around and LED treatment for all of its lights. Instead, the variant gets glossy silver touches on the front grille, headlamps, lower air dam surrounds and rear bumper applique.
The headlamps here are all-halogen units, and they miss out on daytime running LEDs too. Even the tail lamps are halogen units here. The Prestige variant has glossy silver wheel caps for the 16-inch steel wheels. Other design highlights of this variant are roof rails, integrated roof spoiler with in-built stop lamp and shark-fin antenna.
The cabin also offers a decent feature list
On the inside, the Kia Carens in this Prestige variant gets a host of features, which should serve the purpose of a majority of the buyers. The variant gets a dual-tone black and beige upholstery and part-leather finish for the seats and front centre armrest.
It also gets an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple Carplay and Android Auto, steering-mounted audio and Bluetooth controls, electrical tumble-down feature for the second-row seat, manual AC with roof-mounted blowers and four speakers and two tweeters for the music system.
The list of safety features in the Prestige variant of the Kia Carens is extensive with features like front, side and curtain airbags, ABS with EBD, all four-wheel disc brakes, hill hold assist, hill descent control, front and rear parking sensors, automatic headlamps and reverse camera.
We can see that Kia has put a lot of effort into making the Prestige variant of the Carens a well-equipped one. With a price of Rs 9.99 lakh for the 1.5-litre petrol version, it surely will divert a lot of compact SUV buyers towards it, thanks to the added practicality of the third row of seats.
