The Ferrari 458 Italia is a true supercar icon and with prices starting to soar, now could be the last opportunity to buy one for a ‘reasonable’ amount.
Every mid-engined, V8-powered supercar from Ferrari is special but with the 458, the Italian automaker managed to nail everything from the design to the handling and the powertrain. It’s little wonder then that some 13 years after its unveiling, Chevrolet used it to benchmark the new Corvette Z06.
The example you’re looking at is finished in Giallo Modena and is a 2010 model with just 11,000 miles (17,000 km) on the clock. It is rolling on a set of 20-inch five-spoke forged wheels finished in silver with yellow Ferrari center caps and sitting over a set of yellow brake calipers. Wrapped around the wheels are Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires measuring 235/35 at the front and 295/35 at the rear.
A peek inside the cabin reveals power-adjustable seats wrapped in black leather with yellow diamond stitching and Prancing Horse logos on the headrests. The supercar also features carbon fiber accents across the steering wheel, dashboard, and transmission tunnel.
Then there is the powertrain. Driving the car is a 4.5-liter naturally aspirated V8 churning out 562 hp at a screaming 9,000 rpm and 398 lb-ft (540 Nm) of torque at 6,000 rpm. This V8 is mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission powering the rear wheels through an electronically controlled active differential. The 458’s engine was the last naturally aspirated V8 produced by Ferrari and is a key reason why prices of used 458s have now surpassed the prices of used 488 GTBs.
