Return it to glory? This 1964 Buick Riviera could be awesome

No, it’s not a 1965 model with the cool hidden headlights. But it IS a first-generation Riviera, and it DOES have a 7.0-liter V8 under the hood. This 1964 Buick Riviera has clearly seen better days. But the listing says the car is complete, fully equipped, has no rust, and runs excellent. And a running, non-rusty Buick Riv for under $10,000 seems like a good deal.

Yes, it’s going to need a complete respray. Though you could always just clean it up and drive it as is. Focus on making sure the mechanical bits are perfect. If the interior needs work, which it most certainly does, handle that before the exterior. Drive as is, then sell down the road to someone ready to tackle the paint. This could be your Patina’d Personal Luxury Coupe.

The engine is a Wildcat 425 and the listing says it’s been rebuilt. On the air cleaner cover, the label says Wildcat 465, which I believe was from a later version of this engine. So I’m not sure if this has the single or dual carb setup. Regardless, it would be a fun motor for cruising and noise making.

The car is for sale in California with an asking price of $8,500. Here’s a link to the full listing.
